Open the bottles!!!
I was thrilled when my friend Mrs. Kamala Wijeratne asked me whether she can send me a poem to be published at my site. I immediately responded with a "yes". I offered to create a page for her, and asked her to send me a short bio and a photo for inclusion in the page.
While I was thinking about the new page, I thought why not make it a general page, which can be expanded to accommodate more poets who may wish to have space to publish their output.
Hence this page where, on the lefthand panel, the contributing poets are mentioned, which direct links to their own pages.
I set up myself as an illustration of what can be had for each participant.
What a participant wishes to publish need not conform to the same structure. I am willing to make suitable adjustments to accommodate individual wishes.
What can one offer for publication? Anything, in fact.
In the skeleton page I have designed for Kamala, I have listed her published works. I could go further and elaborate on each work, by incorporating, for example, front and back covers, an introductory blurb, reviews, sample poems etc.
In fact one could, literally, advertise (for the lack of a suitable term) their work. Also, announce forthcoming material.
If anyone to publish reviews and comments on books one has read, recommendations of books to read/avoid, for example, can be accommodated.
So, please pass this bit of news about the space available to poets and writers to all your contacts.
